Introduction

Warm greetings to you my dear reader.  It is my sincere prayer that the information in this docuent will be of great benefit to you and to yours, and ultimately to the worldwide cause of God.

There is no question that a great work is being done in the field of medicine. There is also no question that much suffering is being alleviated, and that many lives are being saved as a result of the sincere efforts of well-meaning physicians and nurses. One shudders to even imagine a world without medical technology, without ambulances, without hospitals, without operating theatres and trauma units, etcetera, . . .

While it is true that drugs are often over-prescribed, and while it is true that many have an often unwarranted faith in drugs, we simply have to admit that there are times when drugs are necessary. While it is true that there is an element of racketeering in medicine, we also need to recognize that there are a great many wonderful, honest, self-sacrificing individuals who are involved in this industry. While it is true that much of medicine focuses heavily on the cure of disease and far too lightly on the prevention of disease, it is encouraging indeed to note that there is a worldwide swing towards a more holistic and preventive approach – and this is even becoming evident in certain medical schools.

Nevertheless, as much as I am persuaded to give credit where credit is due, my in-depth studies of the inspired counsel, my intimate involvement in the health food industry for over 25 years, and my personal experience with thousands of individuals, have all led me to the sad conclusion that a huge mistake has been made in the field of medicine - and the shocking truth is that we, as a church, were mandated by God to help the world to avoid falling prey to this mistake.

In order for my reader to fully appreciate the true science of healing – as discussed in the second part of this book, it is necessary for us to first consider this momentous mistake in some depth, and this will be the focus of the first part of this book. Please understand that it is not my intention to condemn or to overturn the existing structures, but to humbly draw attention to a matter of utmost importance - one that simply has to be addressed if we, as God’s end-time church, are to prosper under His blessing.

Purpose and Authority

Please understand that my goal in writing this book is not to simply produce another “health book,” but to draw attention to the true health message that God gave to His church via the pen of Ellen White.

Realizing the importance of such an undertaking, I have leaned heavily on the inspired counsel and on other dependable sources, and I have tried, as far as possible, to limit my own commentary to the bare minimum.

For over thirty years I have carefully and prayerfully studied and indexed almost everything that Ellen White ever wrote and, as such, I feel adequately qualified to use her writings responsibly.

More than this, I have put the theory to the acid test - and I have discovered that it works wonderfully. During a ten year period that began in 1990, my wife and I conducted seven- to ten-day live-in health seminars throughout our country. At these seminars, delegates were “prescribed” a liberal dose of the eight laws of health as they are described on page 127 of the book Ministry of Healing. The results were always more than astounding and they confirmed, beyond any question, that our health message is a powerful healing tool and that God is most certainly the author of this message. 

In this light, it is my sincere prayer that this publication will help God’s people, and especially the leaders of God’s people, to realize that our health message constitutes so much more than merely a collection of good-living guidelines. In truth,  . . .

• Our health message is God’s specific instruction for all who wish to live a disease-free life.

• Our health message is God’s essential instruction for all who wish to enjoy a deeper spiritual experience.

• Our health message presents us with heaven's only approved method of practicing the healing arts – and this method, according to Ellen White, almost totally precludes the use of medicinal drugs.

To My Reader

In a spirit of utter humility I venture to suggest that this book could well be one of the most life-changing books that you have ever read – and I do not say this lightly. As such, I invite you to read it prayerfully and carefully.

Our very sick world is in desperate need of this all-important message, and God is depending on people like you and I to walk in the light and to share this light with others.

“God means that testing truth shall be brought to the front and become a subject of examination and discussion, even if it is through the contempt placed upon it. The minds of the people must be agitated. Every controversy, every reproach, every slander, will be God’s means of provoking inquiry and awakening minds that otherwise would slumber.” (5T453.1)

“A world is waiting to hear the message of present truth. The truth for this time, the third angel’s message, is to be proclaimed with a loud voice, meaning with increased power, as we approach the great final test. This test must come to the churches in connection with true medical missionary work.” (AG338.5; LLM336.4)
